Darwin is the new Bali

Darwin is the new Bali

While some lament the inability to travel to exotic destinations, restrictions have given Australians the opportunity to explore their own backyard. And for many first-time visitors to Darwin this year they are exclaiming that Darwin is the new Bali.

If you are a traveller that enjoys tropical weather, Asian food, friendly hospitality, lounging around the pool, and great cocktails all with a laidback feeling then Darwin is exuding some of that “Darwin is the New Bali” Vibe.

How so?

Darwin Markets

The year-round Parap Village Markets and Rapid Creek Markets both offer an experience of the bustling Asian markets of our memories. With both markets running for over 40 years, they are an institution for locals and a must do experience for visitors. At the Saturday Parap morning markets enjoy hawker style street food and local crafts. For authentic Indonesian head to Sari Rasa for charcoal grilled satay skewers or Gado Gado. Plus even if you’re not here on a Saturday you can visit their actual restaurant in the CBD for Lunch. Its only 600 metres from the hotel.

On Sundays our choice is to visit the Rapid Creek Markets for the fresh food experience like no other. This is Exotic! Tables piled high with fresh Asian vegetables, most grown locally, Fresh coconut chopped open to drink with a straw. More Indonesian food including Nasi Campur, Beef Rendang & fried tempeh from Selera Indonesian Corner.

Ramada Zen Quarter offers a free shuttle all morning to these markets for our guests.
