Driving to the Northern Territory

Driving to Darwin

Driving in Australia and driving to Darwin is one of the highlights for many international backpackers, caravaners and Grey Nomads. Free parking for campervans however is not something readily available. When you stay at Zen Quarter we offer free off street parking for campers, caravans and even semi trailers.

Why drive to Darwin?

The sheer beauty of the Australian outback can only be fully appreciated when driving. There are five main ways that travellers reach Darwin.

  1. Through Western Australia via Broome, Kununurra and the Kimberleys along the Great Northern Highway
  2. Straight up the Stuart Highway
  3. From Qld via Mount Isa on the Barkly Highway
  4. The very adventurous way through the top of QLD and Borroloola taking in the Savannah Way
  5. Arriving in Darwin from overseas and hiring a campervan
