Here are our top tips that we recommend to visitors to Darwin for things to do when it’s raining.

Crocosaurus Cove
One of our top city picks for wet weather in Darwin. Go to Crocosaurus Cove on Mitchell Street to see crocodiles, lizards, snakes and fish up close and personal. This is a great activity for both adults and kids and will certainly leave you in awe of these prehistoric creatures.

The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory
This museum should be visited whether it is raining or not. It has a large selection of aboriginal arts and crafts, vessels from overseas, bird and insect specimens and an interactive feature where you can experience what it was like in Cyclone Tracy. Plus, there is a great coffee shop attached.

RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility
The Royal Flying Doctor Service – Darwin Tourist Facility will give you an insight into the history and operations of this valuable service to remote communities. See the planes and equipment and hear the stories of this great Australian icon.

World War II Oil Storage Tunnels
These tunnels were built during World War 2 to protect and store oil from being bombed by the Japanese. A part of the Waterfront Precinct, these offer an interesting insight into the wartime history and the bombing of Darwin.

Defence of Darwin Experience
Not everyone knows that war came to Australia on 19th February 1942 when Darwin was bombed. The Defence of Darwin experience gives you access to both this knowledge and the Darwin Military Museum. Both of these are located at East point an approximate 10-minute drive from Ramada. Here you can learn about the bombing of Darwin and our importance as a strategic location during World War 2.

KingPin Darwin
This is all action stations. Just a 15-minute drive from our hotel you can engage in bowling, laser tag or table tennis. KingPin is a huge indoor facility with dining options and is fun for all ages.

Casuarina Shopping Square
This is the largest shopping centre in Darwin and perfect to go to when its raining. All of the shops and carparks are undercover and you will find major stores and brands here. Additionally there a great dining options and an Event cinema. We would only recommend this as a wet weather option in Darwin as you will find the same stores here as other regional shopping centres interstate. Darwin City has better boutique shopping options for non-rainy days.
